Jbay Baptist Church seeks to preach the word of God in love and gentleness to all people, to be a family model of Church.

Why We Exist

Loving People

We believe God has called us to love all people of all walks of life (within both cultural and economic differences). We love through extending the grace and love He has shown us. We can only love because He first loved us, John 13:45 “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Making Disciples

God calls us to make disciples that will grow the kingdom through Jesus, for God’s glory. A disciple is someone that has been reconciled into a relationship with God through new birth by trust in the gospel and is growing in a love for God and for others. Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

All for God’s Glory

Everything we do is for God’s Glory. It is all about Him. Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

What to expect

We are a loving and open family church! You’ll experience a joyful, Gospel-centered service with Bible reading, prayer, preaching, and worship music.

Come as you are—we’re relaxed, and you’ll fit right in. You’ll join our friendly and diverse community. We have Junior Church and Youth Programs that join us for the first 10 minutes of worship, after which our Junior and Youth church leaders will collect the children and move to our bottom hall.

We also have a cry room and toddlers room available for parents with younger children. After the service, join us for tea and coffee—we’d love to chat and welcome you into our church family.

Our facilities are wheelchair friendly.

When you arrive at the main door, someone will warmly greet you and answer any questions about the service. Don’t worry—we won’t call you to the front or ask you to stand. Just relax and be yourself.

Worship

Each Sunday, we gather to read Scripture, pray together, give, hear God’s Word preached, and share in communion. Our worship music includes classic hymns, modern hymns and contemporary worship songs, led by our talented band of musicians.

Dress code

We’re a relaxed, come-as-you-are community. Our preacher sets the tone in casual attire—chinos or jeans with a button-up or golf shirt. There’s no dress code here. Wear what makes you comfortable, because we believe worship is about the heart, not the outfit.

Atmosphere

You’ll experience a joyful worship atmosphere and Gospel-centered preaching in a community that’s friendly, welcoming, and beautifully diverse. We create a place where you can be yourself and feel at home.

Church Size

Around 160 of us worship together each Sunday—a close-knit community that’s warm and welcoming without feeling overwhelming.

Junior church

Children ages 4–13 are welcome to join us for the first 10 minutes of worship, then our Junior Church leaders take them to our bottom hall for engaging, age-appropriate activities while you continue in the service. We also have a cry room and toddlers’ room available for parents with younger children.

Youth

Young people ages 14–18 are welcome to join us for the first 10 minutes of worship, then our Youth leaders take them to the bottom hall for their own program while you continue in the service. It’s a great time for them to connect with peers and grow in their faith alongside the main congregation.
